Rock'em Sock'em Robots Arena for PlayStation 1

Hey guys, I'm back to bring you another game that has never been famous for the great game that it is!

When I was younger I used to play this game all the time, and I just recently bought it again to play it...and I still love it! Rock'em Sock'em Robots Arena is a fighter game on PlayStation 1 that has all the expectations of other fighter games...but with a slight difference to it, but let me tell you more about the game first. This 1 to 2 player game allows the player to choose between 9 different characters and 5 unlock able "super" characters. These super characters include the two original Rock'em Sock'em Robots and the last three special opponents in the finals round of the career. In career mode a player can select a character and duke it out through three arenas with five fights in each and the finals round which include three of the hardest robots. What makes this game my favorite fighter on the PlayStation platform of all time is this; a player can rip off an opponent's arm if he does enough damage to it during a round which will help you defeat him next round to win best 2 out of 3 and you can attach this arm to yourself in replacement of one of your arms before the next match to add variety to your attacks. This isn't the only way to add variety, by winning matches you will earn money, with this money you can jump on over to the shop and customize your robot with over 100 different parts and 50,000 different combinations! These combinations make the game never get old because of the thousands of attack combinations that are possible due to this. Each robot has multiple attack combinations that allow you to shoot a dual fire-wave all the way to a five-hit teleporting combo. If you need help with these combinations, well you aren't gonna get much help because all the secret moves and specials are not displayed in the manual and they make you work to figure out the best attacks that you can do. Just make sure to not let yourself over heat, or you'll be stuck to hand-to-hand combat until you cool down.

Another factor that makes this game great is that you aren't restricted to left and right movements. This game is built on a 3D engine that allows a player to use the whole arena but come close in to bring back that 2D original hand-to-hand fighting look.

Other Game Types:

Versus Mode: Battle a computer robot or attach another control and duke it out with a friend.

Career Mode: See Above

Stakes Mode: Allows you to connect your career mode with a friend and battle him just like in versus mode, but with a little twist. You have to put up a part that you earned in career mode or attached to yourself for a buy-in, winner takes all.

Practice Mode: Lets you test out all your new moves against a dummy with no health limit or a computer and gives you a helpful guild at the bottom that shows you the button combos you just pressed.
